Library Rules

          * Every student of the College on the rolls has the privilege to be a member of the College Library, unless barred by reason of suspension or other disqualification.

          * Users are required to swipe their Identity Card in the Barcode Reader (E-Gate Register) while entering and exiting the library.

          * Library membership : Using their Identity Cards students are eligible to borrow the following number of books.

            UG students – 3 Books
            PG students – 4 Books
            Research Scholars – 5 Books

          * Strict silence shall be maintained in the Library.

          * Before entering the Library, students shall deposit their personal belongings at the personal property desk.

          * Students shall produce their identity cards to get books issued.

          * Chatting and other noisy or distracting behaviour and activity are strictly prohibited.

        * The borrowers and users shall bestow utmost care in using the books and the facilities of the library. They would be required to pay for any damage they cause to the books or other properties of the Library.

       * Folding, earmarking and tearing of the pages, writing, underlining, marking and annotating will constitute damage to the books.

          * Library users may obtain books from the closed cupboards only by a specific request to the Librarian.

          * No book shall be taken out of the library without due entry being made in the issue register.

          * Reference books must be consulted within the library itself. No reference book shall be taken out of the library

          * Before leaving the counter, the borrower shall satisfy himself as to whether the books lent to him are in sound condition. Should he/she find any mutilations, missing pages or other damages, the same shall immediately be brought to the notice of the librarian. The last borrower is held responsible for any previously unrecorded damages found in a book at any time and is liable to replace the book or pay such compensation as may be fixed by the Principal at her discretion.

          * The books borrowed should be returned to the library on or before the due date failing which a fine of Re. 3/- will be levied per day of delay per book.

          * Irrespective of due dates, the books borrowed from the library must be returned without fail two days before the last day of the course work of any semester.

          * Transfer Certificates / Conduct Certificates and deposit refunds will not be given to outgoing students unless they have returned the books borrowed and the library tickets issued to them and cleared the dues, if any.

          * Students should not sublend library books issued to them.

       * Students should take good care of the library books. If a student happens to lose any book, he would be required to replace the book or pay the replacement cost of the book together with a fine as decided by the Principal at her discretion.
