Field Trip & Study Tour
Field trips/study tours are organized every year to the places of educational, historical and industrial significance so as to provide first hand information and hands on training required for the profession.
Citizenship Training Camp
The student-teachers undergo a 5 day camp as a part of the B.Ed. Curriculum, where they gain a first hand knowledge and experience in community living. Various programmes are undertaken during this period so as to inculcate in them the value of community service and help them to evolve into responsible citizens. The student-teachers stayed in the college premises during the five days of the camp and underwent training programmes in focal areas of teaching. The programme included sessions on "Teacher's Contribution to the Society", "First Aid", "Communication Skills for Effective Teaching", "Life Skills", "Nutrition and Health" and "Personality Development". In the mornings, the student-teachers were engaged in Aerobics and Yoga and in the evenings games and tournaments were conducted. The camp helped the student-teachers to gain practical experience in community living and team work.
Community Awareness Programme
In our College, the Red Ribbon Club functions in collaboration with TNTEU and TANSACS for the purpose of disseminating information about HIV/AIDS among the students. It also sensitize them the need for a behavioural changes among the students population to chase this dreadful disease. The Community will be benefitted by these awareness programmes in bringing about "Zero new infection by 2020" which is the basic step in the preventive measures taken by the Government.
