G R Damodaran Academy of Management provides a specialized MBA program in International Business on a full-time basis. The MBA-IB curriculum is delivered in four semesters scheduled in two academic years. The academic year commences during July. Regular classes are held between 9:30 a.m. and 04:30 p.m. from Monday to Saturday.
The MBA International Business curriculum is designed in such a way that enhances, the knowledge and management skills focusing on international business. It will ease the skills of managing international business operations in a highly dynamic and a competitive environment. These specialized skills will assist in managing the challenges in a unique manner in the international scenario. Moreover, the competitive advantage of pursuing a specialized MBA in International Business is that it connects the students with the industry-specific employers in logistics and export-import trading that leads to job offers and training experiences. In an increasingly competitive marketplace, specialist knowledge can certainly help a student stand out. It enhances a student’s employability, job prospects, and the entrepreneurial expertise in the field of International Business. It is being nurtured as a very prestigious program with excellent facilities and features.
While the first year provides a solid footing in the basics of business and its related disciplines, the second year offers Students the opportunity to specialize in a field of their choice: International Marketing, Supply Chain Management, International Financial Management, Export – Import Management, International Human Resource Management, Operations Management, Systems, Forecasting, Shipping Management, and Logistics Management.
The MBA – International Business curriculum is designed with an objective to inculcate a Global exposure to the Students. All the Subjects are contemporary to suit the current International scenario of business.
Although tied to the framework of the Bharathiar University syllabus and the examination requirements, the MBA-IB (FT) coursework at the Academy seeks to go beyond textbook-based rote learning and set exercises, to become an exciting and a rewarding learning adventure which would help the Students to internalize the principles and skills and develop the Behaviours, Attitudes and Intellectual Abilities appropriate for professional effectiveness in Management.
To this end, classroom work is supplemented by Self-Study Assignments and learning opportunities like Seminars and Workshops (On Campus and Outstation), Guest Lectures, Paper Presentations, Simulations, Data Analytics, Case Studies, Role Play Sessions, etc., These are topped off by an intensive exposure to the demands of the live business situations and problems in the form of Projects and other appropriate interactions. Frequent lectures by the Top Managers and Consultants are arranged. The thriving Entrepreneurial and Industrial Culture of Coimbatore provides the enriching ambience for Student development. Periodic visits to the Industrial establishments at Coimbatore and in major cities like Chennai, Bangalore and Kochi enable the Students to have a glimpse of the more complex real life situations in the major Business and Industrial Organisations.
International Exposure Trip
International Business students will have an opportunity to go for a foreign trip and to take an internship in companies abroad to gain cross-cultural experience in business management and logistics & Supply chain.
Out of classroom
Self-study assignments and learning opportunities like seminars and workshops (on-campus and outstation), guest lectures, paper presentations, simulations, case studies, role plays etc are supplemented by the students to enhance their capabilities out of their classroom work. These are topped off by intensive exposure to the demands of real-life business situations and problems through projects and other interactions.
Outbound Training
In order to develop their skills, students will be taken up for boot camp (Out Campus Training) engaging them in management games, including adventure challenges, group activities and realistic simulations.
Industry Visits and Guest lectures
Frequent lectures by top managers and consultants are arranged. The thriving entrepreneurial and industrial culture of Coimbatore provides an enriching ambiance for student development. Periodic visits to the industrial establishments at Coimbatore and in major cities like Chennai, Bangalore and Kochi enable students to have a feel of more complex real-life business situations.
