NSS Activities
The NSS (National Service Scheme) units at Dr. GR Damodaran College of Science play an important role in cultivating social awareness and responsibility among students. These units organize a variety of community service activities that focus on the overall development of both students and the community. Their initiatives include blood donation drives, environmental awareness campaigns, health check-up camps, and literacy programs. Through these activities, students are encouraged to actively contribute to society, while also developing skills in leadership, teamwork, and organization.
The NSS units often collaborate with local authorities and NGOs to enhance the reach and impact of their projects. Additionally, workshops and awareness sessions are regularly conducted to foster active participation in social causes. Students are motivated to engage in selfless service, promoting values of empathy and social justice. The NSS units have received recognition for successfully implementing various outreach projects. Through NSS, Dr. GR Damodaran College cultivates responsible citizens who are dedicated to social welfare.
The college comprises of 3 units of NSS of about 300 volunteers. All the activities of the 3 units are effectively coordinated by the faculty members.
